Ekadeshma Agroculture Center is an educational center that aims to protect the historical culture and traditions of Nepal. Located in Gothatar, Kathmandu, Ekadeshma Agrocultural center operates from 10 AM to 3 PM from Sunday to Friday and 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday. They charge Rs. 250 NPR per person as an entry fee. We, students of Grade nine from Dynamic Public School visited Ekadeshma with the objective of practically learning the historical traditions and customs of Nepal.

After more than an hour of drive from DPS, we reached Ekadeshma at around 12:30 PM. Right after a short rest, we started our tour by observing the design of old Nepalese houses. Additionally, we observed the various tools used by our ancestors to get their day-to-day work done. Additionally, we had an opportunity to practice using those tools. We were allowed to actually use the old mat sewing machine, the book reading stand, pottery, Madani, Hadi, and many more. We prepared Mohi and Makai for snacks.

After having snacks, we went to the Katha Ghar (story house). We started exploring Katha Ghar by learning about the solar system. Various traditional tools and materials of the Nepalese kitchen were nicely decorated. Moreover, the different cultural dresses of many cultures and beliefs as well as old computers are kept in Katha Ghar. Before returning to the school, we did not miss the opportunity to play traditional musical instruments like Basuri, sankha, Damaha, Jhyamta, etc.

Ekadeshma Agrocultural Center is an outstanding place to learn about the old traditions and culture of Nepal. Every student must visit this place to explore the journey of our nation toward advanced technology and life before it. (Reported by Devkota Tara, G9)
